Who We Are
The Down Syndrome Aim High Resource Center at the Center for Disability Services provides parent-to-parent and professional services and support to individuals with Down syndrome and their families.
We offer support programs, educational services, social events, community events and up-to-date news and resources for families, professionals and individuals. We also work to educate the greater community about Down syndrome.
From even before a child is born, throughout childhood and adolescence and into adulthood, Down Syndrome Aim High Resource Center is here to help each family and individual achieve their goals. We want every person with Down syndrome to reach their fullest potential and to become fully included members of their communities.
Here are just a few highlights of the support provided by the Down Syndrome Aim High Resource Center from the past year:
- 271 – Parent Education Consultations, Linkage, Outreach & Referrals Provided
- 138 – Professional Education Consultations, Linkage, Outreach & Referrals Provided
- 122 – Extra MILE Program – Modified Materials for Students with Disabilities
- 272 – Contacts with individuals that resulted in connections to services, information sharing and participation in DSAHRC’s programs and activities
- 1,412 – E-Distribution List: Total Subscribers
- 1,000 – DSAHRC Facebook Followers
Programs and Services
DSAHRC offers families, health professionals and educators opportunities for support and ongoing learning and training.
We offer:
- Parent support groups
- Play groups
- Educational Seminars
- Education coordination/IEP Consultations
- Lending Library
- Meet-up’s and social activities for people with Down syndrome ages 16 and over
