Telemedicine at Center Health Care
What is Telemedicine?
Telemedicine is the use of technology that allows patients to see their health care providers from a distance. Patients may participate in some medical appointments without leaving their home. In order to use this service, you must have access to a computer, tablet or smart phone with webcam and internet access.
How does it work?
Primary Care Appointments: A nurse will determine if a telemedicine appointment is appropriate. If so, after the telemedicine a CHC Practice Specialist schedule an appointment and an e-mail is sent to you with a link to a secure website in which you will have a face-to-face virtual visit with your health care provider. The provider will ask you questions about your symptoms, provide a visual assessment, and offer treatment based on the clinical data gathered during the virtual visit.
Primary care is using telemedicine services for some routine rechecks, follow-up for chronic medical issues and acute concerns. An in-person visit may need to be scheduled after a telephone evaluation. It is imperative that we are aware of your symptoms before you come in so that we can guide you to the most appropriate care setting and testing.
Psychiatry and Counseling services will provided in office and via telemedicine as long as some of your appointments are in-person.
