History of the Incubator

HII Tech (Health Innovations Incubator & Technology Center) grew out of the Center for Disability Services’ long-standing commitment to improve quality of life for people with disabilities. First launched in 2018 as an expansion of earlier R&D efforts, the incubator was formally celebrated with a ribbon cutting in 2022 as the Center’s dedicated R&D arm.

Since then, HII Tech has evolved from a small lab into a full prototyping and fabrication facility where engineers, fellows, and students develop practical health-tech and assistive devices, turning unmet care needs into solutions with real-world clinical and community impact.
