Laura Wells
Laura Wells was appointed the Corporate Compliance/Privacy Officer for the Center for Disability Services in 2001. In this capacity, she develops policies and procedures for the general operations of the agency’s compliance efforts to minimize the risk of illegal activity, unethical and improper conduct. To insure that all Center functions are carried out in accordance with local, state and federal laws, she also oversees all internal audit functions. Ms. Wells has over 25 years of experience in compliance, investigatory and quality assurance oversight of programs and services for individuals with disabilities. Her extensive background includes: project management, regulatory compliance, quality assurance and improvement methodologies, outcome measurement, varied accreditation processes, staff training, and policy and procedure development for not-for-profit health and human services agencies. Ms. Wells has been an employee at the Center for Disability Services for over 26 years in various capacities. She began her career with the Center as a part-time residential direct care counselor, but quickly moved into the quality assurance and compliance field. She was promoted several times, including: Program Evaluation Assistant to Quality Assurance Manager, Assistant Vice President of Quality Assurance, and Director of Compliance and Investigations. Ms. Wells lives in Saratoga Springs with her husband, Don. |
