Ron Smith
Director of Information Technology

Ron Smith was appointed the Director of Information Technology for the Center for Disability Services in 2002.  In this capacity, he is responsible for all aspects of data operations supporting 2,500 end users at over 80 locations, including: network administration, technical support, help desk and system development.

Mr. Smith has over 20 years experience in the IT field.  Prior to joining the Center, he was the Manager of Computer Operations at Freihofer Baking Company in Albany, NY; the Assistant Vice President of Computer Operations & Technical Support for ALBANK in Albany; and Director of MIS for Lawrence Insurance Group in Schenectady, NY.
             
Mr. Smith received his degree in Computer Technology from Thompson College in Harrisburg, PA, and completed his technical training and Novell Certification in Business Administration from Bucknell University in Lewisburg, PA.

Mr. Smith is a member of the Clifton Gardens Neighborhood Association, Whiskers Animal Rescue & Adoption, and Masonic Lodge.

Mr. Smith and his wife, Cheryl, live in Clifton Park, and have three children and four grandchildren.
