Mary Kim Purcell
Mary Kim Purcell was appointed the Deputy Executive Director of Adult Services of the Center for Disability Services in November of 1994. In this capacity, she is responsible for administrative oversight of all Center adult day programs and services, including: pre-voc services, day habilitation, sheltered employment and supportive employment. Ms. Purcell has been an employee at the Center for Disability Services for over 25 years in a variety of capacities. She began her career with the Center as a Teacher/Development Specialist, and was promoted to various positions, including: Assistant Manager of Adult Day Training Program, and Manager of Adult Day Training Program. Ms. Purcell received the Center for Disability Services’ Executive Director Award for Excellence in 1996 for her outstanding work and dedication to the Center’s mission. Prior to her career at the Center, Ms. Purcell was a Special Education Teacher for various organizations, including: Avalon Schools in Monterey, MA; Hudson Middle School in Hudson, NY; and NYS Division of Youth-Eddie Parker Youth Center in Red Hook, NY. She was also a Resident Counselor for Montgomery County Chapter of NYS Association for Retarded Children, Inc. in Amsterdam, NY. Ms. Purcell received her Bachelor of Science degree in Home Economics/Child Development from State University of New York at Oneonta, and earned her Master of Science degree in Education, with permanent certification in Special Education, from College of St. Rose in Albany, NY. Ms. Purcell is a member of the Albany-Colonie Chamber of Commerce Capital Leadership Class of 2001. She is the Co-President of Friends of the Bethlehem Public Library. Ms. Purcell and her husband, Shawn, have 2 children and live in Delmar, NY. |
