North Country Festival of Trees & Jingle Bell Jubilee

Welcome the season surrounded by beauty at the 26th Annual North Country Festival of Trees, December 1 to December 3, at The Queensbury Hotel, 88 Ridge Street, Glens Falls. The event kicks off with the Jingle Bell Jubilee on Thursday evening, November 30. All events benefit Prospect Center, a division of the Center for Disability Services.

Record Breaking Buddy Walk

The 21st Annual Capital Region Buddy Walk, on October 14, set an event record for participation and fundraising. Nearly 700 walkers gathered in Schenectady Central Park for the day’s festivities, to benefit the Down Syndrome Aim High Resource Center, a division of the Center for Disability Services. Organizers say the Buddy Walk raised $50,000, surpassing its goal.

A Big Thank You….
to Panache Hair and Nail Studio on Route 9 in Clifton Park and stylist Jolene Robinson for organizing a fundraiser to benefit the Center for Disability Services on September 24. The afternoon featured specials on wash and blow dries, manicures and hair and cosmetic products. There were also gift baskets, a bake sale and a 50/50 raffle. The event brought in a grand total of $3,240! Thank you to the businesses which donated and to everyone who participated. Robinson’s son, Miles, is a new student this year at CloverPatch Preschool in Albany.
