Local Talent to be Highlighted at Center for Disability Services Telethon

This year, there will be twice the number of local acts performing during the 51st Annual Center for Disability Services Telethon on Sunday, January 30, from noon to 7 p.m., at the Holiday Inn Albany on Wolf Road. The seven hour all live, all local broadcast will air on WXXA-TV/FOX23 News, and once again, Country 107.7 WGNA FM personalities will host the talent area.

Performers will include: Capital Brass Choir, Academy of the Holy Names Chorus, consumer John Schwartz singing with guitarist Bob DeMers, Brettany McAnally on ukulele, vocalist Sylvia Grace, MIRK with Mike Thornton of the Langan School, Brighter Choice Charter School for Girls K-4 Dance Team, Brittany Rose Egnot playing keyboard and singing, Eleanor’s School of Dance performing “Strings,” classical guitarist Harry George Pellegrin, Albany Leadership Charter High School for Girls Dance Team with consumer Harrietta Watson singing, Center employee Jon South, a duet with Jon South and consumer Kate Pucci, guitarist Tommy White with an original composition, Anthony Gargiula & Dance Crew, and singers Shari Hand, Krissy Fauler and Wayne Willson.

The telethon will be hosted by FOX23 news anchors John Gray and Ann Hughes, sports director Rich Becker, meteorologist Steve Teeling, and DayBreak anchor Mark Baker. The WGNA talent area will be hosted by Kevin Richards from noon to 2 p.m.; Lou Roberts and Jake Thomas from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.; and Sean & Richie-- Sean McMaster and Richie Phillips, Jeff Levack and Casey Danton from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.
