Alan Krafchin

Alan Krafchin was appointed President and CEO of the Center for Disability Services, Inc. on July 1, 2001.  As President and CEO, Mr. Krafchin is responsible for the overall direction and function of the Center and its subsidiary operations.  During his tenure, Alan has completed two successful mergers, the Center’s budget has grown by over 80% and the Center has become a significant employer in the Capital Region.
      
Prior to his current position, Alan served as the Center’s Chief Operating Office after the merger of the Center for the Disabled and Residential Opportunities Inc. (ROI).  Prior to joining the Center, Mr. Krafchin was the founding Executive Director of Residential Opportunities Inc. (ROI) and served in that capacity for twenty-five years.  Under his leadership and guidance, ROI grew from one group home to become a provider of a full range of services for people with MRDD including residential, day and at-home programs with an annual budget of $19 million.

Alan Krafchin earned a Master’s in Public Health from Columbia University in New York City, a Master of Science from State University of New York (SUNY) Albany, and a Bachelor of Science from SUNY Plattsburgh.

Mr. Krafchin has served on various community Boards, including the Executive Board for the Albany-Colonie Regional Chamber of Commerce, Town of North Greenbush IDA and New York State Association of Rehabilitation Agencies.

Mr. Krafchin has three children and lives with his wife in North Greenbush, New York.
