Good afternoon everyone,
I wanted to give everyone an update on the Procurement Council meeting that was earlier today, and the results of the vote to allow New York State Industries for the Disabled or NYSID (and the Center) to have print as a preferred source offering. I am happy to report that the application was approved with a 17-0 vote, with only the NYS Comptroller’s office abstaining from the vote. I want to thank all of you for your letters, phone calls, and support, this has been a 3 year battle that I am happy to say is behind us, at least for the next 2 years.
If any of you know Maureen O’Brien, the new President and CEO of NYSID, please congratulate and thank her for all of her efforts with this application. She did a lot of work with the procurement council members since she was hired by NYSID in August, and today presented this application to the council in a very eloquent manner. Maureen has been a valued partner in this process, and worked closely with the Center to get this application approved.
Thank you again for all of your support.
